It has been a while since our last newsletter, but we have not been idle. Since then, we have released two new products - the Molegro Data Modeller and the Molegro Molecular Viewer - and an update to our Molegro Virtual Docker software. Read on for the details.

Molegro Data Modeller Released

On October 4th 2007, we released Molegro Data Modeller, a cross-platform application for Data Mining, Data Modelling, and Data Visualization.

A new version of Molegro Data Modeller (MDM v1.1.0) was released on March 7th 2008 adding new features (Partial Least Squares regression, a Similarity Browser, and Linear Kernel SVM) and minor bug fixes.

Molegro Data Modeller offers a high-quality modelling tool based on state-of-the art data mining techniques combined with a user interface experience focusing on usability and productivity.

Molegro Data Modeller utilizes a spreadsheet centered user interface making it a simple and affordable alternative to complex workflow based solutions or command-driven statistical products.

Highlights of Molegro Data Modeller

• Regression: Multiple Linear Regression, Partial Least Squares, Support Vector Machines, and Neural Networks.
• Feature selection and cross-validation is simple to set up and use (using the built-in wizards).
• Principal Component Analysis (PCA).
• Visualization: Histograms, 2D scatter plots, and 3D plots.
• Clustering: K-means clustering and density-based clustering.
• Built-in algebraic data transformation tool.
• Outlier Detection.
• Sophisticated subset creation: create diverse subsets by sampling from n-dimensional grids.

Molegro Molecular Viewer Released

In January 2008 we released the first version of our new free molecular viewer for visualization of molecules and Molegro Virtual Docker results - Molegro Molecular Viewer (MMV v1.0).

Molegro Virtual Docker 2.3.0 Released

On December 17th, 2007 we released version 2.3.0 of Molegro Virtual Docker.

Major changes include a new Ligand Energy Inspector for detailed visualization and information about all interactions and Structural Protein Alignment making it possible to rigidly align proteins.

Molegro Joins Microsoft in BioIT Alliance

We are pleased to announce that Molegro has joined the BioIT Alliance formed by Microsoft. The BioIT Alliance is a world-wide cross-industry group which unites the pharmaceutical, biotech, hardware, and software industries with the aim to explore new ways to share complex biomedical data and collaborate among multi-disciplinary teams to speed the pace of discovery in the life sciences.
