Installation: ------------- To install Molegro Molecular Viewer on Linux: Extract the downloaded file (MMV_1_2_0.tar.gz): 'tar xvfz MMV_1_2_0.tar.gz' will install the application in /Molegro/MDM Release Notes for various Linux Distributions: ---------------------------------------------- Molegro Molecular Viewer has been tested with the following distributions: Debian 3.1, Fedora Core 3-5, Gentoo 2005.1, Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 and 4, SUSE Linux 10 (using KDE 3.5), Ubuntu Linux 5.10 and 6.10 (both 32 and 64-bit). Some of these required updating the standard C++ library (see below). If the program fails to start the most likely cause is a missing dependency. If the program is started from a windows manager (e.g. KDE) there will not be any indication of missing dependencies - the program just doesn't start up. To resolve missing dependencies, start Molegro Data Modeller from the command line, and inspect the output. The most likely missing dependency is 'libstdc++6', the standard C++ library for Linux. Resolving a missing dependency can be done using a package manager. For example on Debian choose 'Applications | System Tools | Synaptic Package Manager' and choose 'Search' and enter 'libstdc++6' and mark it for installation.
